“JESUS LOVES ME!”
John 3:16-17
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.”
What a blessing it is that God has made His Word and His message so simple that even small kids can understand it. At the same time, it is so profound that brilliant minds can study it for a lifetime and still barely scratch the surface.
I feel that one of the most important things students of the Bible can do is to keep the Bible simple and attainable to everyone. We often feel that simplicity in presenting the gospel message only applies to children. I agree that we need to keep it simple for children, but we also need to keep the message simple for adults.
I was sent this article some time back, and was struck by the need to maintain a childlike faith and trust in God and His Word. By the way, it is good for the young ones also.
I once read about a local church which held a Vacation Bible School for senior citizens. As you may recall, at the Vacation Bible Schools for kids, they teach them special songs to sing during the VBS program for their families at the end of the week. The Pastor passed out a song sheet for the seniors to learn new words to “Jesus Loves Me”. It may be well for all of us “Seniors” to memorize the words:
Jesus loves me, this I know
Though my hair is white as snow
Though my sight is growing dim
Still He bids me trust in him.
(Chorus) YES, JESUS LOVES ME YES, JESUS LOVES ME YES. JESUS LOVES ME THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO.Though my steps are oh, so slow.
With my hand in His I’ll go
On through life, let come what may,
He’ll be there to lead the way.

I have much which He’s begun
Let me serve Christ with a smile.
